Seven batches of TUPAD workers affected by the super typhoon Lawin were oriented on November 9-10 by OSHC REU II focal person Engr. Karen Matusalem. The orientation helped them prepare for their work in the clearing operations.

The OSH orientation features lectures and discussions on the basics of safety and health, the common hazards present in small-scale and backyard enterprises such as materials handling and storage, poor housekeeping, use of sharps and other equipment, exposure to dust and other contaminants, inadequate ventilation and illumination, heat stress, and musculoskeletal disorders.
