DOLE-OSHC awards National Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan champions
Sunpower Philippines Manufacturing Limited., Engr. Oliver Abelgas of Knowles Electronics (Philippines) Corporation, and Bagnos Multi-Purpose were named as the 10th Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) champions.
“We at the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) are grateful for the inspiration you give us with your outstanding safety and health policies and programs. These encourage us to continue collaborating with all the industries in integrating the OSH culture into each and every work process,” said OSHC Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.
GKK winners have gone beyond mere compliance to the General Labor and Occupational Safety and Health Standards. They have implemented exemplary OSH policies and programs as well as corporate social responsibility programs to help the surrounding community for the past two years. These are proven not just by recorded safe man hours and certifications from other government authorities, the enthusiasm and confidence of their workers, and the gratefulness of the communities.
Twenty two other winners will also be recognized. The GKK Gold Award will be bestowed to Knowles Electronics (Philippines) Corporation, Maynilad Water Services La Mesa Treatment Plant 2, Petron Corporation Legazpi and Nasipit Depots and Rohm Electronics Philippines, Inc. for the Industry Category; and Engr. Hollis Fernandez of SN Aboitiz Power and Engr. Conrado Soriano of Maynilad for the Individual Category.
The GKK Silver Award will be given to Maynilad Water Services, Inc. Central Depot Warehouse and Fairview-Commonwealth Business Area, Panay Power Corporation, Philippine Geothermal Production Company, Inc., SN Aboitiz Power Benguet-Ambuklao and Binga Plants, and Texas Instruments Philippines, Inc. for the Industry Category; Dr. Florentino Alerta II and Mr. Joseph Macaranas of Panay Power, and Mr. Anselmo Puse of the Philippine Geothermal Production Company, Inc. for the Individual Category; and McNester Food Products for the Micro Enterprise/Informal Sector Category
The Bronze Award will be given to Petron Corporation Tagoloan Depot and Therma Marine, Inc. for the Industry Category; Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – Head Office for the Government Category; and Pure Ever Drinking Water Refilling Station for the Micro Enterprise/Informal Sector Category
