DOLE-OSHC conducts OSH orientation for Muntinlupa LGU

“Sa Muntinlupa, sikat ang maingat!”

This is what the officials and staff of the Muntinlupa City Government said after the successful one-day Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Orientation today, July, 26, 2016.

“Just as our slogan and hashtag says, we belive that Sikat talaga ang Maingat. Workers who are safe and healthy are productive, the enterprises and companies they work for are stable and sustained and their families are happy. With the culture of safety and health well implemented, any organization, even small businesses will grow and be nationall and internationally accalimed,” said Occupational Safety and Health Center Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.

“We at the OSHC want all organizations not just the private establishments but the government offices as well, to be protected through having sound OSH policies and programs. Thus we are continuously pouring efforts to conduct OSH trainings in LGUs this year,” added Cucueco.

More than a hundred employees of the Muntinlupa LGU attended the OSH Orientation conducted by Occupational Safety and Health Center in cooperation with the Public Employment and Services Office (PESO), Muntinlupa City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the DOLE NCR Office. Similar efforts were done in Valenzuela and many other LGUs in other regions.

The one-day event featured discussions on the risks faced by workers in the Muntinlupa Government such as ergonomics, safety while on the road for traffic enforcers, and trash handlers, and issues faced by hospital workers and school security personnel.
