DOLE-OSHC REU VI and SONO train 55 new safety officers on BOSH

A total of 55 workers from 26 companies benefitted from the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training being conducted jointly by the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) Regional Extension Unit (REU) VI and the Safety Organization of Negros Occidental (SONO) today, November 28 up to December 2, 2016. The training is currently being held at the GT Hotel, Bacolod City.

The BOSH Training is one of the 40-hour mandatory trainings for safety officers. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards, a sufficient number of safety officers, who have finished the BOSH Training, must be employed by all establishments. The number of safety officers depends on the number of workers for every shift.

“We are thankful that we have fruitful partnerships with the occupational safety and health networks (OSHNets) who help us bring our services, especially the OSH trainings to workers in the regions,” said Occupational Safety and Health Center Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.
