DOLE-OSHC maintains ISO 9001:2008 certification
“We are proud to note that we have maintained our ISO 9001:2008 certification for three years now. It has been an enlightening journey for us – we encountered a lot of challenges in the beginning but these helped us really improve the delivey of our services,” said Occupational Safety and Health Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD CESO III.
“I would like to thank the TUV Rheinland, especially the audit team who guided us in enhancing our systems and being at par with the international standards for the quality management system. I would also like to laud the OSHC staff who worked on running the systems and making sure that our services are carried out efficiently and with utmost quality,” she added.
The second surveillance audit was conducted today, December 22, 2016, and with no non-conformities, the OSHC remains ISO certified for five major processes: in-house Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training, information dissemination, occupational safety and health audit, conduct of work environment measurement, and biological monitoring for heavy metals. These also include support processes such as human resource, purchasing, billing, repair and maintenance of IT equipment, security, and general services.
“Congratulations to OSHC for passing the audit and maintaining the ISO 9001:2008 certification. This is an opportune time for you to begin formulating your new strategies for the ISO 9001:2015 which I am sure will further enhance your performance as a government agency,” said John Francis Fautorilla, one of the auditors from TUV Rheinland.
The ISO 9001:2015 focuses more on managing processes and performance through utilizing the risk-based thinking and the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle at all levels of the organization.
