A total of 21 new safety officers from 18 companies attended the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) Regional Extension Unit (REU) IV-A held in cooperation with the Occupational Safety and Health Networks IV-A on November 21-25, 2016 at the Peoples Technology Center, Carmona, Cavite.
The BOSH Training is one of the 40-hour mandatory trainings for safety officers. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards, a sufficient number of safety officers, who have finished the BOSH Training, must be employed by all establishments. The number of safety officers depends on the number of workers for every shift.
“Thank you OSHNET IV-A for helping us train more safety officers in this highly industrialized region. We need more safety officers and we cannot take on the task of providing OSH trainings alone. We hope we can continue to count on you,” said Occupational Safety and Health Center Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.
