DOLE -OSHC trains 220 informal sector workers in Dinagat Islands for free

“As part of the efforts of the DOLE to reach out to all workers even in the remotest parts of the country, we have conducted two batches of the one-day Occupational Safety and Health appreciation for the informal sector workers in the Dinagat Islands,” said OSHC Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.

The OSHC is among the first of the DOLE agencies to bring DOLE services to the said area. A total of 220 workers from various small enterprises attended the OSH Appreciation courses held on January 27 and 28 at the 4Groups Fucntion Hall, Poblacion, San Jose, PDI.

The OSH Appreciation Course is designed by the OSHC for enterprises with a small workforce. This is given mostly to informal sector workplaces which cannot afford to have their workers out for a long time as it can compromise their production. The one-day training included lectures and workshops which provide basic knowledge and skills on OSH.
