The Occupational Safety and Health (OSHC) Branch in the Bicol region is now operational. “It is a much-needed supplement to coordinate the OSH mandates, programs, trainings and other advocacy activities in the region. We will now be able to bring OSH services closer to the Bicolanos”, said OSHC Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.

The OSHC Bicol Branch will facilitate the conduct of research, training, information dissemination and requests for technical services such as Work Environment Measurement, medical surveillance and testing of Personal Protective Equipment.

The OSHC Bicol Branch is also actively involved in various activities like occupational safety and health trainings, information drives, accident investigations and assistance to government offices in terms of the delivery of DOLE’s programs and services.

Mr. Mark James S. Andayog, Research Analyst I and the staff in-charge in the region already guested on local radio programs in Legazpi and Tabacco Cities such as DWAD CARE 88.3 FM’s “Obrerong Bicolano, Oragon Ka” and One Radio 91.3 FM’s Negosyo asin Trabaho” to increase public awareness about the Center as well as inform them about the elements needed in the successful implementation of OSH programs in their workplace.

“This is another major step of the Center in its quest to create a healthy, well protected working population” said Mr. Andayog during his radio guesting in Legazpi City.

The recent expansions of the Center will mean easy access to its services, and a testament to its commitment to help build a healthy and safe working environment.
