OSHC partners with DOLE offices to bring services closer to the people

In its effort to bring services closer to the people, the OSHC Regional Extension Unit 5, together with the other DOLE offices, joined hands to conduct series of convergence activities to deliver all plant-level DOLE programs and services to one plant-level structure, which is the Labor Management Cooperation/Council (LMC) or any Workplace Cooperation and Partnership (WCP) structure.
Through the Administrative Order No. 47, Series of 2015, or the Guidelines on the Implementation of LMC Convergence of Programs, the LMC Convergence Team (LCT) compose of National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) and DOLE Regional 5 conducted LMCs/WCPs enhancement activities on converged DOLE programs in Albay Agro-Industrial Development Corporation (ALINDECO), a supplier of quality abaca pulp sheets to the international market, and Liberty Commercial Center, a commercial establishment in Legazpi City on June 23-24, 2015.
Mr. Mark James S. Andayog, OSHC, provided orientation that provides the level of detail needed for workers and employers to identify occupational risks and how to control them, learning about safe workplace practices and how to properly use personal protective equipment. Since accidents and fatalities are a constant threat to worker safety, the participants were encouraged to strengthen Occupational Health and Safety Committee through conduct of monthly safety meetings, develop accident prevention program and provide OSH trainings for staff.
