DOLE-OSHC and OSHNET Central Visayas to hold 3rd Visayan Occupational Safety and Health Summit
The Occupational Safety and Health Network-Central Visayas (OSHNET-CV), in partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Center and DOLE Regional Offices, Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Central Visayas (OSHNET-CV) will be holding the third Occupational Safety and Health Summit in the Visayas at the City Sports Club Cebu, Ayala Business Park, Cebu city on August 6-7, 2015.
“We always try to underscore the importance of compliance to General Labor and Occupational Safety and Health Standards – this is the core of the Labor Laws Compliance system which we are implementing and we are happy that our partners – the OSHNETS – are helping us encourage more companies, workers and employers to comply with the standards which have been developed for ensuring the well-being of the workers and productivity and sustainability of enterprises,” said Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz.
The 3rd OSH Summit in the Visayas, with the theme “Strengthening OSH Systems and Compliance to Attain ASEAN Competitiveness” will feature discussions on current trends in OSH. Highlights of the Summit include recognition of best OSH practices by private companies in the Visayas.
“We at the OSHC are grateful for the continued growth of the OSHNETs as evidenced by the continuous conduct of regional and big-island group OSH Summits such as this. We have definitely gone a long way in the field of OSH advocacy and we are very glad that the summits are responsive to the call of the times,” said OSHC Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.
