A total of 175 representatives from 102 companies attended the free seminar on the occupational health issuances onducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) yesterday, July 21, 2015.
“We wanted to encourage more establishments to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards and the occupational health issuances of the DOLE so we had this free seminar. We are happy that there were a lot of participants and I hope that they will implement OH programs in their respective workplaces, said OSHC Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.
The half-day seminar featured discussions on DOLE Department Orders 53-03 (Guidelines for the Implementation of Drug-Free Workplace Policies and Programs), 73-05(Guidelines for the Implementation of Policy and Program on Tuberculosis Prevention and Control in the Workplace), and 102-10 (Guidelines for the implementation of HIV and AIDS Prevention and Control in the Workplace Program) as well as DOLE Department Advisory 05-10 (Guidelines for the Implementation of a Workplace Policy and Program on Hepatitis B).
“These DOLE issuances and seminars that we hold is part of our response to the issues that plague our workers on drug abuse, Tuberculosis, HIV and AIDS and Hepatitis B. These areas remain to be problematic in our country and we need to put our efforts in resolving them,” added Cucueco
