DOLE-OSHC trains 878 new safety officers in October

A total of 878 participants from 536 companies attended the eight batches of the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training and nine batches of the Construction Safety Training held this October.

The BOSH Training and CST are the 40-hour mandatory trainings for safety officers. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards, a sufficient number of safety officers, who have finished the BOSH Training or CST, must be employed by all establishments. The number of safety officers depends on the number of workers for every shift.

The OSHC, together with the (OSHNets) conducted the BOSH Training and CST at the OSHC main office in Quezon City and in the provinces of Cebu, Cotabato, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Masbate, Naga, Butuan, Bicol, Bohol, Iloilo and Davao.

“We are thankful to the Occupational Safety and Health Networks (OSHNets) and to the accredited Safety Training Organizations for helping us reach more workers and establishments,” added Cucueco.
