DOLE-OSHC trains 554 new safety officers on BOSH

A total of 554 new safety officers from 361 companies attended nine batches of the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training held in cooperation with the Occupational Safety and Health Networks (OSHNets) this February.

The BOSH Training is one of the 40-hour mandatory trainings for safety officers. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards, a sufficient number of safety officers, who have finished the BOSH Training, must be employed by all establishments. The number of safety officers depends on the number of workers for every shift.

“As part of the vigorous OSH awareness and training campaign, we have opened more batches of the mandatory, 40-hour BOSH Training. And together with the OSHNets, we are able to cater to more and more workers in need of this training said Occupational Safety and Health Center Executive Director Ma. Teresita S. Cucueco, MD, CESO III.

The OSHC conducted BOSH Trainings at its main office in Quezon City and in the cities of Antipolo, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Isabela, and Lipa,
