OSHC REU 5 conducts safety and health orientation in Cam Norte
Some 44 participants from 39 companies benefitted from the Occupational Safety and Health Orientation conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Center Regional Extension Unit (OSHC REU) 5 during the Industry Tripartite Council Formation for Bakery and Pawnshop Industries today, May 11, 2016. The orientations was held in cooperation with the DOLE Regional Office 5, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, and the Employees Compensation Commission
Mr. Mark James Andayog of OSHC REU 5 discussed the occupational risks and hazards, establishing an occupational safety and health committee, developing an accident prevention program, conduct of OSH trainings for staff. Mr. Andayog stressed that employee involvement, strong leadership and commitment from all levels of management are essential for the improvement of the workplace safety culture.
The OSH orientation aims to spread the word about preventing accidents and illness and assist the management to take proactive actions in order to achieve excellence in managing safety and health at the workplace.
